My Journey at FG

IMG 2610I started at FG Creative, in early November. The past ten months have been busy, fun, rewarding, challenging, exciting, and more! I have learned SO much and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to be surrounded by such smart women, and men (JEFF!) every day. I always knew how hard it was to run a company and a successful one at that, but from the time I’ve started here I have realized how hard everyone works to make a successful team. Each person is a small but vital building block to the success that FG continues to have. I graduated college a little over a year ago now with the terrifying anxiety of “What Am I Going To Do With My Life?” and “Will I Ever Get A REAL JOB?!” and I will forever be thankful to Stephanie for taking a chance on me and helping me to believe in myself.

Everyone at the office has been a vital part not only in my work life, but my personal life as well. The friendships that I have made here helped my transition from school to work life easy and enjoyable. I feel that I have made friends that I will know for a lifetime. For me, moving from a big city such as San Francisco back to my home town was not ideal and I almost felt as if I took a step backwards but life has a funny way of working itself out and I know this was where I was meant to be.IMG 3905

Here are a FEW things I have learned at FG Creative:

  • Never wear overalls or jean shorts in an office (HA)
  • Always lead with yes, it will get you much farther than no
  • Professionalism is key, so is kindness.
  • Dress for the job you want not the job you have
  • Communicate what is going on, not everything in your life will always be perfect and it is okay to have an off day or sad day.
  • If possible, try to be in before your boss, and stay until after your boss leaves. I am still perfecting this habit. ;)
  • Lastly, WORK HARD and HUSTLE. You won’t regret it!IMG 2864

I am off into my next adventure of life which is a new job I’ve accepted in LA at a Software Company. This was an extremely tough and bittersweet decision for me as I have loved being at FG, but the big city is calling my name! I am eternally grateful for Stephanie for being caring, considerate, and tough on me when needed. She was and is the best first boss I could have ever asked for and I feel extremely lucky. I will be back frequently and often.IMG 3893
